Bay Rockets Football Dominates Lakewood in Cold Conditions

Liam Szambecki | Bay High School | Oct 18, 2025

On October 17, 2025, the Bay High School Rockets Varsity Football team delivered a spectacular performance against one of their rivals, Lakewood High School, in a regular season football game held at Lakewood under cold weather conditions. The Rockets, leveraging both a powerful offense and a resilient defense, concluded the game with a decisive 42-7 victory. As the first half unfolded, Bay High School established a substantial lead, concluding the half with a score of 21-7. The team showcased an aggressive and efficient offensive strategy right from the kick-off. Notably, Patrick Cleary connected with Brody Beggs for a stunning 46-yard receiving touchdown that was a highlight of the evening. Cleary, contributing significantly, accumulated a total of four passing touchdowns during the game. Other notable scorers included Charlie Rodgers, who grabbed two receiving touchdowns, and Micheal Foreman who had one receiving touchdown. On the ground, Jimmy Boehnlein and Ben Harlan both had rushing touchdowns, cementing the team's superiority. The defensive play was equally impressive, characterized by key players who halted Lakewood's advances effectively. Ethan Sedivec stood out with a crucial interception, and Lute Harmon along with Sedivec provided tight coverage that stifled Lakewood's attempt to revitalize their passing game. Sully Knaack said, “We played physical up front and established the run game early, Evan Taulbee had some explosive carries, defensively we shut down their run game and forced them to go to their passing game, which they never got going because of our defensive backs like Lute Harmon and Ethan Sedivec having great coverage.” Looking forward, the Rockets are set to meet Rocky River on October 24, 2025, at Bay High School Memorial Field. The team currently holds a promising season record of 6 wins and 3 losses, and hopes to maintain their form in the upcoming games.
