Bay Rockets Girls Basketball Narrowly Defeated by Steele Comets
The Bay Rockets Varsity Girls basketball team faced a narrow defeat against the Amherst Steele Comets with a final score of 49-48 in a gripping regular season game held at Steele High School on November 21, 2025. The Rockets had a strong first half, leading the Comets by a score of 26-21 at halftime. Key players such as Norah Trefz, who scored a total of 17 points, and Madelyn Lee, who added another 7 points, were crucial in building this lead. Caroline Chilton also contributed significantly with 9 rebounds, 7 steals, and 7 blocks, demonstrating a strong defensive performance. Despite their early lead and solid performances from Chloe Kazma and Anna Weingart, who each scored 6 points and contributed defensively with rebounds and steals, the Rockets were unable to maintain their lead. Amherst Steele came back strong in the second half, ultimately winning the game by a single point. Looking ahead, the Bay High School Rockets will aim to secure their first win of the season against Eastlake North at Berkshire High School on November 22, 2025. They currently hold a record of 0-1.
