Bay Rockets Girls' Basketball Secures Win Against Lakewood Rangers
The Bay Rockets Varsity Girls' Basketball team clinched a decisive 47-34 victory over the Lakewood Rangers. The game, which unfolded at the Bay High School, saw the Rockets bounce back in their regular-season challenge, improving their record to 1-2. The match commenced with intense competition, as both teams aimed to outdo the other. The Rockets' defensive prowess was evident early, disrupting many attempts by the Rangers. At halftime, the Rockets held a promising 26-18 lead over the Rangers. Norah Trefz led her team magnificently, scoring 14 points throughout the game, closely followed by Madelyn Lee and Anna Spellman, who both netted 9 points each. The second half of the game mirrored the first in intensity. Anna Weingart and Caroline Chilton contributed significantly across the board, each dishing out 4 assists. Weingart also led the team in steals with 6, showcasing her defensive capabilities. Top contributions on the rebounds came from Sarah Hein with 7, supporting the Rockets' possession control.
