Bay Rockets Girls Cross Country Competes at the OHSAA Division 2 District Meet
The Bay High School Rockets showcased their determination and teamwork at the Division 2 Girls District Cross Country Meet held on October 18, 2025, at LCCC. Competing against strong teams like Medina Highland, CVCA, Rocky River, and several others, the Bay High team secured a commendable 7th place out of 20 participating teams. The event saw standout performances from several Rockets. Clare Messmore led the team, finishing 17th with a time of 21:04. Following closely were Maya Gonzalez who placed 29th at 21:49, and Anne Weber at 36th with a time of 22:00. Elyse Edelman and Kai Ripley also contributed significantly, placing 41st and 53rd with times of 22:06 and 22:18, respectively. Teammates Nolie Piktel and Elyse Mull rounded out the team's effort with placements of 60th and 62nd, finishing the race at 22:39 and 22:44. Reflecting on the team's performance, the coach highlighted the collective effort stating, 'Just like at the Cleveland West Conference Meet last week, this was a total team effort. We had a few girls who were not 100% this week and their teammates ran incredible races to help balance out the team as they advanced for the Boardman Regional next week.' The Rockets now look forward to their next challenge at the Division 2 Regional Meet scheduled to take place on October 25, 2025, at Boardman High School.
