Bay Rockets Girls Cross Country Display Strong Performance at Boardman Spartan Invitational

The Bay High School Rockets Girls Cross Country team participated in the Boardman Spartan Invitational on September 13, 2025, hosted at Boardman High School. This event featured highly competitive Division 2 races with notable schools such as Hathaway Brown, Tallmadge, Rocky River, among others. Competing in the Girls Division 2 Varsity category, the Rockets placed 7th out of 30 teams. Key performances were delivered by Maya Gonzalez who finished 3rd with a time of 19:14, and Clare Messmore who came in 27th at 20:38. Further contributions came from Anika Schulz, Elyse Edelman, Anne Weber, Nolie Piktel, and Claire Schearer, all helping to secure the team's solid placement. Grace Kelly led the Rockets in the Open category achieving 5th place with a time of 23:42. Coach Scott Snyder expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, highlighting the importance of the exposure of five freshmen to the challenging Boardman course, which will also be the Regional site come October. The team is looking forward to their next challenge at the Strongsville Mustang Invitational at Strongsville High School, scheduled for September 20, 2025.
