Bay Rockets Girls Soccer Claims Victory over Rocky River in Div. 3 Regional Final

In an intense faceoff at the Div. 3 Regional Final on November 1, 2025, Bay Rockets Girls Soccer clinched a narrow victory against Rocky River at Streetsboro. The hard-fought match concluded with a score of Bay 1, Rocky River 0, marking a significant win for the Rockets. The first half of the game saw both teams locked in a defensive battle with neither side able to break through the other's defenses. As they entered halftime, the score remained 0-0, setting the stage for a tense second half. The second half continued much like the first, with both teams aggressively seeking to gain the upper hand. The turning point came with just six minutes left in the game, when Issi Bruno heroically scored the game-winning goal off a corner kick, assisted by Anna Weingart. This decisive goal was the only one made in the game, ultimately securing the victory for the Rockets. Throughout the match, the goalkeeping duties were split between Olivia Ruma in the first half and Riley Mitchell in the second, both of whom played pivotal roles in keeping Rocky River at bay. The win was reflected in the sentiments expressed by the coach, who praised the team's effort, energy, and the creation of multiple scoring opportunities against a formidable opponent. Looking ahead, the Bay High School Rockets are set to face Granville on November 4, 2025, at Clear Fork High School, carrying forward a strong season record of 15-3-2 and high spirits from their recent victory.
