Bay Rockets Girls Soccer Dominates in OHSAA District Semifinal vs. Midview

In a commanding display of skill and teamwork, the Bay High School Rockets girls' varsity soccer team triumphed over Midview in their tournament opener on a challenging cold, windy, and rainy day. The match, held at Bay on October 21, 2015, concluded with a decisive 5-0 victory for the Rockets. From the outset, the Rockets seized control of the game, showcasing strong performances in both the midfield and forward areas. Key players included Madelyn Lee, who scored twice; Aley Fetterman, who contributed one goal and two assists; Issi Bruno, scoring once and also providing an assist; and Kendra Vidmar, who added another goal to the tally. Assists were also credited to Alex Linsenmeyer and Meg Webster, further highlighting the team's collaborative effort. By halftime, the Rockets had built an impressive 4-0 lead over Midview. Defensively, the Rockets were just as formidable. Goalkeeping duties were split between Riley Mitchell in the first half and Olivia Ruma in the second, both of whom kept a clean sheet. Their defensive prowess, combined with the aggressive and effective play in the attacking third, denied Midview any chance to alter the course of the game. Reflecting on the victory, Coach expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, particularly praising their ability to create numerous scoring opportunities despite the adverse weather conditions. "This was a good team win for us. It was a good start to the tournament. We played well in the midfield 1/3 and the attacking 1/3 of the field. We created many good scoring chances tonight," he stated. Looking forward, the Rockets are set to face NDCL at Perry High School on October 25, 2025. With a current record of 12 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws, the Rockets are well-positioned to continue their strong performance in the tournament.
