Bay Rockets Overcome Clay Eagles in Season Opener

In a spirited start to the season, the Bay High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse team clinched a victory against the Clay High School Eagles, closing the match with a score of 5-2 in their regular season opener on March 21, 2025.

Despite the cold and windy conditions, the game was highly competitive, finishing the first half locked at 2-2. However, the Bay Rockets showcased their strength in the second half, pulling away decisively from the Eagles. Key player Vince Boushelle led the scoring with three goals, while teammates Grady Joyce and Beckett LaVogue added one goal each. Joyce and Zavier Phinney also contributed with one assist each.

The Bay Rockets' defense received praise for its robust performance throughout the game, particularly noting the contributions from younger players who made a significant impact on their debut. One of the key moments cited was a fast break goal that ultimately secured the lead for the Rockets.

Goalkeeper Sean Kraft received accolades for his performance, helping fend off the Eagles' offense effectively. The team looks ahead to their next challenge as they host Rocky River at the Bay Stadium on March 25, 2025. The win lifts the Bay Rockets' current record to 1-0, setting a confident tone for the season ahead.
