Bay Rockets Overcome North Olmsted in Conference Basketball Clash
In an exciting showdown on December 14, 2024, the Bay High School Rockets showcased their skills on the basketball court, defeating the North Olmsted Eagles with a score of 55-42 in a conference game held at the Launchpad.
From the outset, the Rockets set a strong pace, leading 35-17 at halftime. Norah led the scoring for Bay with an impressive 20 points, followed by Caroline with 9 points, and Quinn and Megan contributing 8 points each. Seniors Maddie Bigler and Megan Maybaum were noted for their energetic play, making crucial effort plays that kept the momentum in Bay's favor.
Key moments included Andy Naughton's important baskets at the end of the third quarter which were crucial in maintaining the lead. Additionally, Grace Manoloff was commended for her excellent vocal leadership that resonated throughout the game.
Coach of the Rockets expressed pride in the team’s performance: "Proud of how the girls competed today. We had a bad 4 minute stretch to start the fourth, but were able to finish strong," highlighting their resilience and capability to close the game with strength.
Looking forward, the Rockets will host Rocky River at home on December 20, 2024, aiming to build on their current 5-2 record.
