In a thrilling OHSAA Sectional Final at Bay High School, the Bay Rockets boys basketball team clinched a decisive 61-51 victory over the Benedictine Bengals on February 21, 2025. The win not only showcased the Rockets' cohesiveness and skill but also propelled them further into the postseason showdowns.

The Rockets, led by key scorers Collin Melvin with 20 points, Tommy Mack with 12 points, and Max Cockburn with 11 points, maintained a slim lead at halftime with a score of 31-30. Their performance in the second half demonstrated a perfect execution of their game strategy, widening the gap and securing their win. Senior Wondu Evans, distinguished as the Light The Fuse Player of the Game, was instrumental with his defensive prowess and two crucial 3-point shots.

"We executed what we had game planned for all week. That was a complete game for 4 quarters; we didn't let up in the 2nd half," said senior Tommy Mack. This sentiment was echoed by the Rockets' coach who praised the team's effort and determination: "What a win! Playoff basketball, it's win or go home.
