Bay Rockets Swimming and Diving Finishes Strong in Regular Season Quad Meet

In a competitive regular season event, the Bay High School Rockets showcased impressive performances against North Olmsted, Normandy, and Buckeye. The event saw both the boys and girls teams delivering notable results in their individual and relay competitions. The girls' team clinched a commendable second place, driven by their standout performance in the 200 medley relay, featuring Moriah Murtha, Lydia Murtha, Emery Ziemnik, and Ruby Render. Both Moriah Murtha and Ruby Render led the Rockets, securing first place in each of their individual events. The girls' success continued with a victory in the 200 free relay. Additional contributions came from Emery Ziemnik and senior Cecilia Gomez, with Gomez placing third in both of her events and Ziemnik securing a second and third place. Freshman Anika Schulz also made a significant impact, finishing second in the 1-meter diving event. On the boys' side, the Rockets also demonstrated strong performances, achieving a third-place team finish. Luke Filiatraut was a notable leader, winning both of his individual events decisively. Junior Ilias Ghaffari and sophomore Liam Jager contributed first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle and 500 freestyle, respectively. Jager also managed a third place in the 200 freestyle. Freshman Robert Abramov impressed in his debut, finishing third in both individual events he participated in. The boys' strength was further highlighted by their triumph in the 400 freestyle relay. Overall, the Bay High School Rockets continue to show their prowess in the pool with these solid performances, positioning themselves as strong contenders for the remainder of the season.
