Bay Rockets Varsity Boys Golf Finishes Fourth at OHSAA Division 2 Sectional Tournament

In a challenging day marked by windy and rainy conditions, the Bay High School Rockets competed valiantly at the Division 2 Sectionals held at Pine Hills Hinckley on September 23, 2025. Featuring an 18-team lineup, the Rockets, representing the varsity boys, scored a combined team score of 330, securing a fourth-place finish. Despite their strong performance, they fell just short of qualifying for the upcoming District matches. Matthew Mileti led the Rockets with a remarkable score of 78, ensuring his individual progress to the Districts. His performance included 12 pars and 1 birdie, a testament to his stability and focus, especially recovering commendably from a triple-bogey on his sixth hole. Following him, Emmitt Naughton recorded an 83, Travis Ropelewski an 84, Ben Wagner an 86, and Trevor Ormsby rounded out the scoring with an 87. Each player contributed to the team's robust showing against a competitive field. The day was punctuated by Mileti's resilience, particularly over a sequence where he played eight holes at one under par after his earlier setback. This key moment was a highlight for the Rockets, showcasing their ability to maintain composure under pressure.
