Competing against seven other teams from the CWC Conference, the Rockets posted a team score of 324, placing them behind Westlake Demons at 307 and Rocky River Pirates at 312 in the varsity boys' category. Key performances were noted from Travis Ropelewski who shot a 77 with three birdies, including a remarkable 80-yard hole-out on the 8th hole which proved to be a pivotal moment. Other significant contributions came from Matthew Mileti and Emmitt Naughton, who both scored 82 with Mileti making two birdies and Naughton one. Ben Wagner and Trevor Ormsby also turned in strong showings with scores of 83 and 84 respectively, each adding a birdie to their totals. The coach commented on the team’s performance with satisfaction, noting their strong mental focus and the quality of their shots. Specifically, the coach highlighted the team's ability to 'hit it deep off the tee'. This strategy played a critical role in achieving their season low at this historic and challenging course. Looking forward, the Rockets Golf team is setting their sights on their next major challenge at the Cleveland West Conference Championship, which will be held at Grey Hawk Golf Course. Given their improving form and strong showing at J.E. Good Park, the team is optimistic about their prospects to impact the upcoming sectionals.
