Bay Rockets Varsity Golf Secures Second Place at CWC Cleveland West Conference Championship Round 4

The Bay High School Rockets demonstrated remarkable skill and teamwork at the CWC Cleveland West Conference Championship held on September 17, 2025, at Grey Hawk Golf Course. Competing against seven other teams in the varsity boys’ category, the Rockets emerged as the second place winners, showcasing their prowess in an intense 18-hole stroke play tournament. The team finished with a commendable score of 327, narrowly missing the top spot occupied by Westlake with a score of 323. The sunny weather with temperatures in the low 80s provided ideal conditions for the competitors. Senior captains Travis Ropelewski, Trevor Ormsby, Ryan Skryp, and Emmitt Naughton were highlighted as top performers, bringing their best game to the course. Travis Ropelewski led with a score of 78, including three birdies, securing a third-place finish individually. Trevor Ormsby shot a career-low 79 with one birdie, while both Ryan Skryp and Emmitt Naughton scored 85, with Naughton notching a birdie. One of the pivotal moments occurred at the seventh hole, noted as the toughest in Lorain County, where both Emmitt Naughton and Matthew Mileti secured crucial birdies from within five feet.
