Bay Rockets Varsity Volleyball Advances to District Semifinals with Commanding Victory
In a stunning display of skill and teamwork, the Bay High School Rockets Varsity Girls Volleyball team secured a decisive win in the post-season Sectional Final against Buchtel Griffins. The match, held on October 16, 2025, at Bay High School, ended with a clean sweep of 3-0 in favor of the Rockets. From the outset, the Rockets dominated the court with an overwhelming performance in the first set, winning 25-3. Their momentum didn't waver as they continued to overpower the Griffins in the second set with a score of 25-5. The third set mirrored the first, sealing the match with a 25-3 victory. This triumph highlights the Rockets' impressive playoff run and moves them forward to the district final match. Several players stood out with their remarkable contributions. Ella Hoerig led the team with 18 service points, closely followed by Camille Costin with 15 points. Amelia Vecchio added 13 points, and Fiona Walden contributed 12 points, underscoring the depth of the team's talent. Olivia Miller and Addyson Hoegler each scored 3 points, while Lila Gilmore rounded off the scoring with 2 points. Finally, Andy Naughton had some outstanding kills in the third set to help finish off the match. Looking ahead, the Rockets are set to confront Avon Lake in the next round of the playoffs on October 21, 2025, at Bay High School. With a current record of 21-2, the team is positioned strongly to continue their impressive performance in the upcoming district final.
