Bay Rockets Volleyball Secures Victory Against Rocky River
In an exhilarating regular season conference volleyball match on October 7, 2025, the Bay High School Rockets Girls Varsity team secured a commendable 3-1 victory over their conference rivals, the Rocky River Pirates, at the Rocky River High School. The Rockets immediately established their dominance, taking the first set convincingly with a score of 25-9. The second set was fiercely contested, stretching beyond the usual boundaries, but the Rockets managed to edge out the Pirates with a 28-26 win, showcasing their resilience under pressure. However, Rocky River responded in the third set, narrowly clinching it 25-23, demonstrating that they were not going down without a fight. Not deterred, the Rockets regrouped and returned to their form in the fourth set, decimating the Pirates 25-11 to seal the match victory. Key players for the Rockets included Payton Masterson, who led with 17 service points, followed closely by Olivia Miller and Ella Hoerig who contributed 10 points each. Nina Peet, Amelia Vecchio, Fiona Walden, and Lila Gilmore also played pivotal roles, rounding out a strong team performance with 9, 8, 5, and 4 points respectively. Their collective effort emphasizes the Rockets' depth and teamwork.
