BAY VILLAGE, Ohio - Bay scored three times in an action-packed second half, but a two-goal halftime deficit proved decisive in a 5-3 loss to Hudson on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Hudson, the No. 1-ranked team in Ohio, built a 2-0 lead before halftime and matched the Rockets with three goals after the break.
Hudson applied consistent pressure during the first half, scoring twice while keeping Bay off the board. Rockets goalkeeper Olivia Ruma helped prevent the margin from growing, turning away multiple chances as part of an eight-save performance against the state’s top-ranked side.
Bay’s attack came alive in the second half. Issi Bruno, Madelyn Lee and Meg Webster each scored for the Rockets, who found openings after being shut out through the opening 40 minutes. The three-goal response gave Bay a productive attacking half and forced Hudson to continue answering at the other end.
The second half produced six goals, with each team scoring three.
