AVON LAKE, Ohio - Bay High School posted its lowest team score of the season Monday, combining two career-low rounds with a near hole-in-one to defeat North Olmsted 199-236. The 37-stroke victory moved the Rockets to 6-6 in dual matches.
Caroline Kousaie led Bay with a 46, the lowest individual score of the match for the Rockets. Stella Turrall followed with a 48, recording a career low for the second consecutive round. Their performances gave Bay two scores below 50 and established the foundation for the season-best team total.
Anna Crites added another milestone with a career-low 50. Crites nearly made a hole-in-one on the second hole, placing her tee shot close enough to finish with a birdie. The birdie highlighted a round that helped Bay maintain its scoring advantage over North Olmsted.
Ella Taulbee completed the Rockets' four-player total with a 55. The scores from Kousaie, Turrall, Crites and Taulbee added up to 199, lowering Bay's season benchmark while producing a balanced team performance. Only nine strokes separated the Rockets' top score from their fourth counting score.
Bay will return to competition Tuesday, Sept. 15, for a 5 p.m. dual match against Wellington at Sweetbriar. The Rockets will also celebrate their senior golfers as they try to move above .500 following Monday's season-low round.
