Bay Sweeps North Olmsted Behind Vecchio’s 15 Service Points

BAY_VILLAGE, Ohio - Bay High School swept North Olmsted 3-0 in a varsity volleyball conference match Tuesday, September 29, at home, winning 25-12, 25-20, 25-22. Amelia Vecchio led the Rockets with 15 service points as Bay took the opening set by a wide margin before securing two closer sets to complete the victory.
The Rockets established their strongest scoring margin in the first set, finishing 13 points ahead of North Olmsted. That 25-12 result gave Bay a one-set advantage and was the most decisive of the three sets. North Olmsted narrowed the gap in the second, but the Rockets finished with a 25-20 win to move within one set of a sweep.
The third set produced the closest finish of the match. Bay won 25-22, a three-point margin, to close out North Olmsted without needing a fourth set. Across the three sets, the Rockets totaled 75 points to North Olmsted’s 54, with the opening-set margin accounting for much of that difference.
Vecchio’s 15 service points paced a group of six Bay contributors. Payton Masterson followed with nine, while Sloane Kerber, Camille Costin and Addy Hoegler each recorded five. Morgan Parris added four service points. Together, those six players accounted for 43 service points in the Rockets’ straight-set victory.
Bay finished the conference matchup with winning margins of 13, five and three points. The Rockets next match is against Normandy at home on Thursday , October 1,
