Bay Varsity Boys Golf Secures Victory in Dual Match Against Lakewood Rangers
On August 27, 2025, the Bay High School Rockets Golf team, competing under the 'Varsity Boys' category, emerged victorious in a competitive 9-hole stroke play event against the Lakewood Rangers. The match took place at Pinebrook Golf Course, under sunny skies and windy conditions typical of high 60's weather. The Rockets finished with a commendable team score of 178, comfortably surpassing the Rangers' score of 186. Will Schrock led the team with an impressive score of 42, setting an encouraging tone early in the match. He was closely followed by Jack Wunder who carded a 43, and Aiden Carey, Blake Ropelewski, and Deloy Johnson each rounded off the scoring with 47. This collective effort secured the Rockets a well-deserved win, enhancing their current season record to 39-31. Reflecting on their performance, the coach lauded the team's resilience stating, 'Our young squad did not blink. The fellas played the blue tees and were able to hold-up their end of the bargain and earn the victory against the Rangers.' Will Schrock shared his thoughts on his performance, 'It was important to set the tone early. I was excited with my improvement form our last event.' Looking ahead, the Rockets Golf team will next participate in the SVSM Invite at Good Park Golf Course. This recent victory at Pinebrook has not only boosted their record but also provided valuable experience to the squad, particularly for playing on an unfamiliar course.
