Bay Varsity Boys Golf Triumphs in Dual Match Against North Olmsted Eagles

The Bay High School Rockets Golf team decisively won their 9-hole dual match against the North Olmsted Eagles, scoring a solid 160 to the Eagles' 176. This victory took place at the Springvale Golf Course in North Olmsted, Ohio, on August 25, 2025. Featuring the Varsity Boys team, the match highlighted the strength and coordination of the young golfers, maintaining their undefeated streak in dual play for the season at 2-0. Currently, their record in CWC action stands at an improved 11-8. Key performers for the Rockets were Emmitt Naughton, who shot a 38 with one birdie, Trevor Ormsby, with a 39 including one birdie and five pars, and Ben Wagner, who completed the round with a 40 and one birdie. A pivotal moment in the match was at the challenging par 5 11th hole, where both Ormsby and Wagner secured birdies. Another notable play was by Naughton at the par 4 13th hole, where he landed an impressive near-eagle, ending up merely five inches from the hole on his second shot. The team navigated the overcast and windy conditions effectively, showcasing solid iron play and depth, as noted by the team's coach. He praised the team's ability to handle the day's adverse weather while maintaining a high standard of golf. According to the players, the mood was upbeat, with Ormsby and Naughton commenting on their excellent swing and the fun atmosphere driven by their performance off the tee. The Rockets Golf team is looking forward to continuing their successful season, aiming to maintain and extend their current performance in upcoming CWC matches and dual competitions.
