Bay Varsity Girls Soccer Secures Convincing Win in Conference Opener Against Lakewood
On August 27, 2025, the varsity girls soccer team at Bay High School, showcased a dominant performance in their first conference match of the season against Lakewood, concluding with a 7-0 victory. From the onset, the Rockets took control of the game, orchestrating a series of effective attacks that led to a 5-0 lead by halftime. Key players demonstrating outstanding skill include Aley Fetterman, who netted an impressive three goals, followed by Dani Coffman with two goals. Issi Bruno and Anna Weingart also contributed one goal each, ensuring a robust lead before the break. Assists were equally shared amongst team members, enhancing their forward momentum, with Alex Linsenmeyer providing two assists. Defensively, Bay High School was impenetrable. Riley Mitchell guarded the net in the first half and Olivia Ruma took over in the second, both maintaining a clean sheet. This effective switch provided solidity at the back, thwarting any efforts from Lakewood to alter the course of the game. Looking ahead, the Rockets are focused on their next challenge as they host Normandy on September 3, 2025, at Bay High School.
