Bay Varsity Girls Tennis Faces Setback Against Westlake

The Bay High School Rockets girls' varsity tennis team played at home against Westlake on August 27, 2025, where they were defeated 4-1. Despite a strong fight, the Rockets couldn't secure more than one win in the series of matches. In the singles category, Julia Mavis from Bay High School showcased a stellar performance in the 1st Singles, securing a win with scores of 6-3, 6-1, marking a straight sets victory. However, the subsequent singles matches faced defeats. Lauren Barrett was off at 2nd Singles, losing 1-6, 2-6. Savannah Keberdle was narrowly defeated in the 3rd Singles with scores of 3-6, 6-7. The doubles matches also saw the Rockets facing challenges. The 1st Doubles pair, Alice Jones and Ella Schelzig, engaged in a closely contested three-set match but eventually succumbed with scores of 6-4, 0-6, 4-6. The 2nd Doubles duo, Zoe Norcross and Izzy Frombach, faced a tough opposition and were defeated 2-6, 2-6. Looking forward, the Rockets are set to face St Joes in their next event on September 2, 2025, where they will aim to regain their footing and push for a positive outcome in the ongoing season.
