BAY VILLAGE, Ohio - Junior issi Bruno scored with 26 minutes remaining in the second half, lifting Bay High School to a 1-0 victory over Buckeye High School on Wednesday at Memorial Stadium. Sophomore Lily Kazma supplied the assist on the decisive goal as the Rockets turned sustained pressure into the breakthrough they needed.

The teams entered halftime tied 0-0 after an evenly contested opening half. Bay and Buckeye each created quality scoring opportunities, but neither side found a finish. Buckeye's goalkeeper made several strong saves throughout the match, keeping the Rockets off the scoreboard and giving Buckeye a chance to remain level.

Bay increased the pressure after halftime, pushing play into the offensive third and repeatedly testing Buckeye's defense. The Rockets maintained their attacking presence and continued searching for an opening, while Buckeye's goalkeeper turned away multiple chances to preserve the scoreless tie.

The breakthrough came when Kazma set up Bruno with 26 minutes left. Bruno converted the opportunity for the only goal of the match, rewarding Bay's strong start to the second half and shifting the responsibility to the Rockets' defense to protect the advantage.

Bay held Buckeye scoreless the rest of the way to complete the shutout and secure the one-goal home victory. Played in partly cloudy conditions with a game-time temperature of 67 degrees and winds at 13 mph, the match was decided by one composed second-half connection between Kazma and Bruno.
