Churchill and Eagen Fire Career-Low 43s as Bay Falls to Strongsville
AVON LAKE, Ohio - John Churchill and Everett Eagen each shot a career-low 43 for Bay, but Strongsville used its experience to earn a 160-171 victory over the Rockets on Wednesday. The match was played in mainly clear conditions with the temperature at 78 degrees.
Churchill and Eagen provided the leading individual highlights for Bay’s young lineup. The freshmen continued to show greater consistency and composure while gaining valuable match experience. Their commitment, willingness to learn and steady development have given the Rockets encouraging signs for the future.
Jack McAllister added another consistent performance in a season filled with dependable rounds. The freshman leaned on solid ball striking, a reliable baby fade off the tee and an effective short-iron game. McAllister’s ability to remain composed and execute the strongest parts of his game has helped him build confidence and become a more complete player.
Robert Pinkeva remained in good form with a 44, giving Bay another solid score. Like the rest of the Rockets’ freshman group, Pinkeva continued to gain experience through competition while showing the potential to contribute to the program’s long-term growth.
Strongsville’s 160 team total was enough to hold off Bay by 11 strokes, but the Rockets came away with multiple performances that reflected their progress. Two career-low rounds, Pinkeva’s steady 44 and another composed outing from McAllister highlighted a day in which Bay’s developing golfers embraced the challenge presented by an experienced opponent.
