Four Rockets Score as Bay Blanks Kent Roosevelt 4-0
BAY VILLAGE, Ohio - Four different players scored Saturday as Bay High School combined a balanced attack with a shutout defensive performance to defeat Kent Roosevelt 4-0. Weston Matty, Oliver Marotta, Andrew Starnes and Henry Beal each found the net for the Rockets in light rain at Bay’s home field.
Bay’s ability to create chances throughout the lineup proved decisive. The Rockets generated 20 shots and placed 11 on goal, finishing with a 55% shots-on-goal rate. Marotta led the attack with five shots and contributed to two goals, scoring once and supplying one of Bay’s two assists.
Matty made both of his attempts count as threats, putting two shots on goal and scoring once. Starnes also converted one of his opportunities, finishing with a goal while placing two of his three shots on target. Beal delivered the most efficient performance of the match, scoring with his only shot.
Evan Catteua helped connect the attack with an assist and consistent accuracy. Catteua put all three of his shots on goal, giving Kent Roosevelt additional pressure to handle as Bay spread its scoring chances among several contributors. Marotta added two shots on target to his goal and assist.
The Rockets’ work at the other end completed the result. Bay held Kent Roosevelt scoreless while its attack steadily produced opportunities despite the wet conditions and 9 mph wind. With four scorers, two assists and a clean sheet, Bay turned a complete team performance into a convincing home victory.
