June Hart's Career-Low Leads Rockets in 207-168 Loss to Keystone

Avon Lake, Ohio - June Hart recorded a career-low 49 and Lydia Oldham added a season-low 50, but Bay High School fell 168-207 to Keystone in a varsity girls golf match Tuesday at home. Keystone secured the victory behind multiple rounds in the 30s, while the Rockets produced several individual milestones on a mainly clear, 87-degree afternoon.

Hart, a sophomore, entered the ninth hole needing a par or better to break 50 for the first time in her varsity career. She gave herself an opportunity to finish even lower, rolling a birdie putt that missed by only a few inches. Hart tapped in for par to complete the Rockets' lowest round of the match and reach the career milestone.

The 49 continued a strong stretch for Hart, who had carded the Rockets' lowest 18-hole score of the season one day earlier. Her finish on No. 9 provided the highlight of Bay's home match and gave the Rockets a sub-50 score at the top of their lineup.

Lydia Oldham stayed consistent throughout the round and finished one stroke behind Hart at 50, establishing a season best. Stella Turrall and Sam Fry each finished with matching rounds of 54, giving Bay several steady scores behind its two leaders. The Rockets' four counting scores combined for the team total of 207.

Keystone's depth proved decisive in the 39-stroke victory. Its multiple scores in the 30s helped produce a 168 team total that Bay could not match, even with Hart and Oldham setting personal season benchmarks. For the Rockets, the result also featured progress at the top of the lineup, capped by Hart's pressure par on the final hole.
