Madelyn Scores Twice as Bay Rallies Past Avon 2-1

Junior Madelyn scored two second-half goals, both assisted by sophomore Chloe Kazma, as Bay High School rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat Avon 2-1 on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 29230 Wolf Rd, Bay Village, OH 44140. The second goal completed the comeback after Avon carried a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
Avon opened the scoring in the first half by converting from a corner kick. That set piece accounted for the only goal before the break, leaving the Rockets to chase the match after being held scoreless through the opening half.
Bay responded after halftime through the combination of Chloe Kazma and Madelyn. Chloe Kazma created both scoring opportunities, and Madelyn finished each one to erase the deficit and put the Rockets ahead 2-1. The two-goal performance made Madelyn the match’s leading scorer, while Chloe Kazma supplied both of Bay’s assists.
The Rockets also kept Avon off the scoreboard throughout the second half, protecting the lead after the comeback was complete. Bay’s defensive work prevented Avon from adding to its first-half corner-kick goal and allowed the two second-half finishes from Madelyn to stand as the difference.
Bay will next host Westlake HS on Wednesday, Sep. 9, 2026, at 5 p.m. EDT.
