Marotta Scores Four as Bay Pulls Away for 7-0 Win Over North Olmsted

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio - Oliver Marotta scored four goals, including three during a decisive six-goal second half, as Bay High School defeated North Olmsted 7-0 on Wednesday night. The Rockets turned a 1-0 halftime advantage into a commanding home victory while keeping a clean sheet in light rain.

Bay broke through in the first half when Andrew Starnes set up Marotta for the opening goal. That finish provided the only scoring before halftime, but the Rockets consistently pressured North Olmsted with seven shots and four corner kicks. Bay’s defense protected the lead at the other end and prevented the visitors from finding an equalizer.

The match opened up after halftime. Jonah Czarnecki converted a penalty kick, then Marotta struck three more times to put the result beyond doubt. Starnes assisted Marotta for the second time, Marotta added an unassisted goal, and Will Waters supplied the assist on Marotta’s fourth goal of the match. Hussein Saad converted Bay’s second penalty kick before Enzo Martinez-Vacca completed the scoring off an assist from Alex Schneiderman.

The Rockets made each of their seven shots on target count and finished with 15 total attempts. Bay produced eight shots in the second half, placing six on target and scoring on all six. The attack also generated 14 crosses, seven corner kicks and eight free kicks, with Starnes’ two assists leading a group that recorded four assists overall.

Bay controlled 54.7% of the possession and completed 246 of 360 passes for a 68% success rate. The Rockets were particularly efficient moving forward, completing 49 of 70 passes in the attacking third. Their longest passing sequence reached eight passes, and five possessions included at least six consecutive completions. Combined with a disciplined defensive performance and no goals conceded, that control allowed Bay to turn a narrow halftime lead into a 7-0 final.
