Patrick Cleary Sets Passing-Touchdown Record as Bay Blanks Normandy 49-0
BAY VILLAGE, Ohio - Patrick Cleary threw a school-record six touchdown passes, and Bay overwhelmed Normandy 49-0 in a conference game Friday night at Bay High School. The rout took shape on the Rockets’ first offensive snap, when Jack McManamon turned a screen pass into a 50-yard reception and immediately put the Invaders’ defense under pressure.
Cleary spread his six scoring passes among four receivers while finishing with several hundred yards through the air. He connected with McManamon for a 40+ yard touchdown, found Lute Harmon for two breakaway scores of more than 45 yards each and delivered two jump-ball touchdowns to Ethan Sedivic. Ben Rickson added another touchdown by turning a Cleary completion into a score with a strong run after the catch.
McManamon was a consistent big-play threat and finished with more than 150 receiving yards, highlighted by his touchdown and the 50-yard gain that opened the game. Harmon surpassed 100 receiving yards on his two deep touchdown catches, giving Cleary another downfield option as the Rockets repeatedly created separation against Normandy’s secondary.
Sedivic contributed on both sides of the ball. In addition to winning two contested catches over a defender for touchdowns, he intercepted a Normandy pass to help preserve the shutout. Bay’s defense kept the Invaders off the scoreboard throughout the game, complementing an offense that produced seven touchdown passes.
The Rockets’ passing production extended beyond Cleary’s record-setting performance. Ben Schrock connected with Ryan Connors for a touchdown reception, adding another scoring combination to a dominant night. With McManamon, Harmon, Sedivic, Rickson and Connors all reaching the end zone, Bay had multiple answers as it pulled away for the 49-point victory.
The game was played in partly cloudy conditions with a temperature of 70 degrees at kickoff. Bay will next travel to face North Olmsted at 7 p.m. EDT on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026.
