Rockets Beat Lakewood by 30 as Jack McAllister Fires Career-Low 39

Bay High School’s boys golf team remained unbeaten in dual matches Monday as the Rockets defeated the Lakewood Rangers 168-198 at the Briarpatch in Avon Lake, Ohio. The 30-stroke victory moved Bay to 3-0 this season, with four counting scores of 45 or better powering the first-place finish.

Jack McAllister led the Rockets with a career-low 39, the best individual round of the match for Bay. The sub-40 performance established the pace for a lineup that consistently avoided costly holes and kept its scores within a narrow range.

Sam Vardon continued a steady start to the season by carding a 41. That consistency has become a valuable part of Bay’s early success. Max Berry followed with a 43, and Everett Eagen completed the Rockets’ four-player team total with a 45. Those rounds added up exactly to Bay’s winning score of 168.

Jack supplied the day’s most notable stretch with back-to-back birdies on holes 5 and 6. The consecutive birdies highlighted Bay’s ability to turn scoring opportunities into momentum. The remaining recorded rounds included a 48 by Everett Eagen and a 51 by Joe Boushelle, giving the Rockets additional experience beyond the four counting scores.

The Rockets have opened the dual-match schedule by limiting large numbers and playing with consistency throughout the lineup. Their passion for the game and willingness to learn have translated into three straight victories, with Monday’s balanced 168 providing another strong step forward.
