Rockets Compete in Track and Field Dual At Lakewood
On April 30, 2025, the Bay High School Rockets faced off against Lakewood in a high-stakes dual meet held in Lakewood. Despite a valiant effort, the Rockets were narrowly defeated with a final score of Lakewood 69, Bay Village 53. The Rockets saw numerous standout performances throughout the day, especially in individual events. In the running and racing categories, Michael Hanselman excelled by securing first place in the 1600m and second place in the 3200m, with teammate Kieran Ripley winning the 3200m and taking second in the 1600m. Jayden Perrine showcased his speed by finishing first in both the 400m and the Long Jump. The hurdles events were highlighted by Elliot Trefz who took second in the 110 hurdles and claimed the top spot in the Pole Vault. The Rockets also demonstrated their prowess in field events. Danny Zipfel dominated by taking first place in both the Shot Put and Discus. His teammate, Braeden Egan, also showed strong performances by securing second in the Discus and third in the Shot Put. In the High Jump, Jackson Smith soared to first place, contributing valuable points to the team’s tally. The Bay High Rockets are already looking forward to their next challenge at the Avon Invitational on May 2, 2025. After a day of intense competition and notable individual achievements, the Rockets are poised to make their mark in the upcoming events.
