Rockets Defeat Westlake in Four Sets Behind Costin's 19 Service Points

Bay High School earned a 3-1 conference victory at Westlake on Tuesday, taking the match 25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 25-16. The Rockets won two closely contested sets before closing the match with their largest margin of the evening.
The opening set established the competitive tone. Bay did enough late to secure a 25-22 win and take the early advantage, but Westlake responded in the second set. The hosts claimed that frame 25-20, evening the match at one set apiece and setting up a pivotal third.
That third set proved to be the tightest of the match. With neither side able to finish at the regulation target of 25, the Rockets pushed through for a 26-24 victory. The two-point result restored Bay's lead and put the team one set away from completing the conference win.
Bay carried the advantage into the fourth set and delivered its most decisive result, winning 25-16 to close the match. The Rockets held Westlake to its lowest point total of the night in the final frame after the first three sets had each been decided by five points or fewer.
Camille Costin led Bay's service production with 19 points, the highest total among the Rockets. Payton Masterson added 10 service points, while Morgan Parris recorded seven. Amelia Vecchio and Addy Hoegler contributed five apiece, Kendall Hoerig finished with four, and Sloane Kerber added one. The balanced work at the service line supported Bay through the close opening and third sets before the Rockets created more separation in the fourth.
