BAY_VILLAGE, Ohio - Bay High School broke a halftime tie with a goal between the 46th and 60th minutes to defeat Buckeye 2-1 on Wednesday, Sept. 23, in Medina. The Rockets held Buckeye scoreless after halftime to secure the soccer victory in a match that included a rain delay.
Both teams scored in the opening 15 minutes, and Bay recorded an assist on its early goal. The Rockets generated 16 shots, including six on target, during the first half. Bay also earned three corner kicks and held 56.7% of possession, but the teams entered halftime tied 1-1.
The Rockets supplied the decisive finish in the second half, again with an assist credited on the goal. During the 46th-through-60th-minute stretch, Bay produced three shots, put two on target and earned six corner kicks. The goal gave the Rockets a 2-1 advantage that stood through the final whistle.
