Rockets Fall 5-0 at Rocky River Despite Second Doubles Push
The Bay High School varsity girls tennis team fell 5-0 to Rocky River on Monday afternoon. The Rockets produced their strongest challenge in a second doubles match that reached a third-set tiebreaker.
Maura Mahoney and Mikayla Long extend the second doubles contest into the third set tiebreaker after the teams split the first two sets. The match remained competitive through the final stage before Rocky River prevailed 10-7 in the tiebreaker.
That second doubles performance highlighted Bay’s effort against a Rocky River lineup that completed the team victory across the five scored positions. The Rockets did not earn a team point, but pushing one of the doubles matches through three sets gave Bay a sustained battle during an otherwise difficult afternoon.
