Bay Rockets Boys Lacrosse came up short on the road Thursday night, dropping an 8-5 decision to Canton Central Catholic despite a balanced scoring effort from its top attackers.

Canton Central Catholic built the decisive cushion with a sustained stretch of offense in the middle quarters, capitalizing on extended possessions to open up a multi-goal lead that the Rockets could not fully erase. Bay generated a late push in the fourth, but Canton’s defense and goalkeeping held firm in the closing minutes to secure the three-goal win.

Offensively, the Rockets were led by a familiar trio. John Messmore scored twice, continuing his strong early-season form after a five-goal outing in the opener against West Geauga. Fellow attacker Grady Joyce also finished with two goals, giving Bay a reliable one-two punch on the offensive end. Rocco Ereditario added one goal and one point of additional production, helping keep the Rockets within striking distance as they battled to close the gap.
