Rockets Fall to Rocky River 48-28 Despite Four Cleary Touchdown Passes

BAY_VILLAGE, Ohio - Bay High School fell to Rocky River 48-28 on Friday, Oct. 23, despite an offense highlighted by Patrick Cleary’s 80-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Sedivec. The Rockets finished with four passing touchdowns in the conference matchup. Their scoring production was not enough to overcome River in the season finale.

Sedivec caught three touchdown passes, giving him three of the Rockets’ four trips to the end zone. His 80-yard connection with Cleary provided Bay’s signature offensive play, turning a single pass into a long-distance score. Brody Beggs supplied the other touchdown reception, joining Sedivec as a scoring target for Cleary.

Cleary delivered all four of Bay’s touchdowns through the air, with Sedivec accounting for three-quarters of that scoring total. Griffin Ruppe completed the scoring with a perfect kicking performance, making 4-of-4 extra-point attempts. The four touchdown passes produced 24 points, and Ruppe added the remaining four without a missed conversion.

The Rockets competed hard and kept the contest close before finishing on the losing side of the 20-point margin. Bay paired its long touchdown connection with contributions from a second receiver and dependable extra-point kicking, but River’s 48 points proved too much. The loss closed the Rockets’ season.
