Rockets Finish 11th at Medina Festival as 10 Runners Set Personal Records

BAY_VILLAGE, Ohio - Bay High School placed 11th out of 27 teams at the Medina Milt Place XC Festival on Saturday, Oct. 10, in Medina, led by Gavin English in 16:49.36 and Liam Jager in 16:58.96. Ten of the Rockets’ 22 runners set personal records.
The Rockets made the middle mile a key part of their effort, working through the field with determination and continuing to compete through the finish. Experience and consistency at the front combined with progress from younger runners to help Bay navigate a highly competitive team race. The personal-record total represented nearly half of the team’s runners.
Adrian Ray followed the leading pair with a time of 17:18.64. Behind that trio, Sam McClellan finished in 17:58.76, while Charlie Juratic ran 18:15.08 and Adam Baltz clocked 18:21.22. Carver Vovos added an 18:32.48 finish, nine seconds off a personal record, giving the Rockets another performance close to an individual benchmark.
Bay’s next group included Jack Marcuse at 18:54.98 and Liam Loeffler at 18:58.11, with Joseph Kubiak following in 19:01.15. Those three times were separated by just 6.17 seconds. Dan Buttrick finished in 19:19.69, eight seconds off a personal record, and Micah Bendoraitis completed the race in 19:28.45.
Another closely spaced set of results showed the depth of the Rockets’ lineup. Athan Thanos ran 19:35.25, followed by Aidan Hays in 19:38.72 and Anton Bekeny in 19:43.46. Freddie Steele finished in 19:44.91, putting those four runners within 9.66 seconds of one another. Mason Shah also broke the 20-minute mark with a time of 19:57.32.
The remaining Bay finishers completed a day marked by improvement across the lineup. Leo Krueger recorded 20:41.66 and Eli Belveal finished in 21:13.78. Jonah Bendoraitis followed in 21:26.89, while Lukas McGrew crossed in 22:15.55.
