The Bay High School boys golf team earned a second-place finish Thursday at the Pioneer Invitational, with Blake leading the Rockets by shooting a career-low 80 at Carlisle Golf Club. Bay entered two teams in the eight-team field, and the group led by Blake Ropelewski produced the program’s top finish.

Blake delivered the Rockets’ low round with consistent play across both sides of the course. His 80 set a personal best and gave Bay the leading score it needed to contend near the top of the team standings. The performance also reflected his continued growth early in the season.

Freshman Max Berry continued an impressive opening stretch by carding an 87. Junior Joe Boushelle and Robert Pinkeva completed the scoring for Bay’s second-place group, giving the Rockets four counting rounds in the tournament format.

(Jr.) Blake Ropelewski stated that the team camaraderie was awesome. A lot of our younger players had an opportunity to display their skills. It was fun hoisting the 2nd place plaque.

Bay also received a 91 from Sam Vardon, while John Churchill kept his round below 100. One of the day’s notable moments came from Joe, who recorded the first birdie of his tournament career. With two Rockets teams competing, those rounds added valuable tournament experience throughout the lineup.
