Rockets Secure 212-247 Victory Over North Olmsted Eagles
The Bay High School girls golf team continued a busy week with a 212-247 victory over the North Olmsted Eagles on Wednesday at North Olmsted. The Rockets placed four counting scores in the 50s or better to secure their first win and move to 1-0 in CWC dual match play.
Junior Caroline Kousaie set the pace with a team-low 48. The round gave the Rockets an important advantage at the top of the lineup and helped them finish 35 strokes ahead of the Eagles. Junior Stella Turrall followed with a 53, giving Bay two of its strongest scores in the first dual match of the season.
The Rockets also received a 55 from Charlotte Hofelich in her season debut. Charlotte Hofelich was listed among Bay's leading finishers with a 55, while senior Lydia Oldham completed the scoring group with a 56. Those four counting scores produced Bay's winning total of 212.
Bay's depth extended beyond its counting scores. Junior Sam Fry finished close behind with a 57, and Freshman Katherine Bowler added a 59. With every reported Rockets score below 60, the lineup maintained consistent scoring throughout the match and provided little separation between the team's counting and noncounting rounds. Bay capitalized on having 3 of their top performers back in the lineup for this CWC clash. The Rockets will take on Westlake tomorrow at 11:00 am at Little Met Golf Course.
