Rockets Shine at Cleveland West Conference Championship

The Bay Rockets delivered a strong performance at the Cleveland West Conference Championship on May 15, 2025, securing the second place among tough competitors at the meet held in Bay Village. Teams from Lakewood, Buckeye, Rocky River, Valley Forge, Westlake, Normandy, and North Olmsted were present, with Buckeye leading the overall medals with 151.5 points followed by Bay Village at 125.50 points. The Rockets showcased their competitive spirit through a series of events, with standout performances all over the track. In the 4x800 Meter Relay, the team of Kieran Ripley, Brennen Lyons, Liam Jager, and Michael Hanselman claimed 4th place with a time of 8:25.97. Hanselman also stepped up big for the team to get 2nd and 3rd place in the 3200m and 1600m respectively. Kieran Ripley had a great day taking 3rd in the 800m and 6th in the 1600m. The 100 Meter Dash saw Jayden Perrine taking first place with an impressive 10.71 seconds, contributing significantly to the team's score. Other notable performances came from the 4x200 Meter Relay team consisting of Max Fischer, Cooper Baruxes, Colin McAlea, and Elliot Trefz who secured 5th place. Field events also saw the Rockets scoring points with Jayden Perrine securing 4th in Long Jump and Sully Knaack achieving 3rd place in Shot Put with a throw of 42-6.50. The team dynamics and individual efforts cumulatively contributed to their second-place finish, a fantastic team effort! Looking ahead, the Rockets are preparing to compete in the Northeast District Championship scheduled for May 22, 2025, in Perry. With this recent performance as a boost, they are focused on continuing their strong showing in the upcoming events. Jayden Perrine, a key performer at the conference, expressed his satisfaction with the results, noting a significant improvement and a strong sense of accomplishment from his races. As the team moves forward, their solid foundation and high spirits will surely be their driving force in pursuing further accolades.
