Rockets Soar Past Comets 168-196
Bay’s Rockets delivered a 168-196 victory over the Amherst Comets on Friday at Sweetbriar, placing first in the dual match behind matching rounds of 41 from freshmen Josh Plautz and Max Berry. The 28-stroke margin reflected a strong performance across the lineup as the Rockets produced four counting scores of 44 or better.
Josh Plautz shared medalist honors with Max Berry while recording a season-low round. Their play set the pace for a young group that continues to make an impact, with the freshmen stepping up in key positions. Deloy also turned in a season-low 42, adding another low round to Bay’s results.
Sophomore Deloy Johnson finished close behind the leaders with a 42 that included the Rockets’ highlighted birdie of the match. Mr. Plautz displayed a smooth swing and consistently produced straight, accurate shots, helping Bay maintain its advantage throughout the round.
Jack Mcallister supplied the final counting score with a 44, completing Bay’s team total of 168. The Rockets also received steady golf from junior Joseph Boushelle, who carded a 48, and Freshman Eagen, who finished with a 50. The top-finishers results also listed Eagen with scores of 48 and 50, reflecting the depth behind Bay’s leading four.
