The Bay High School Rockets swept Normandy 3-0 on Tuesday, winning 25-19, 25-15 and 25-17 in a conference match. The Rockets combined consistent serving with steady defense to control all three sets and complete the road victory without dropping a set.
Bay faced its closest test in the opening set, but the Rockets created enough separation to secure a six-point win. They raised the pressure in the second set, holding Normandy to 15 points and producing their largest margin of the match. Bay then maintained its advantage in the third, closing the sweep with an eight-point victory.
The match also featured a career milestone for Amelia Vecchio, who reached 500 career digs. The achievement highlighted the Rockets' defensive work and the sustained back-row production Amelia Vecchio has provided throughout the player's Bay career.
Morgan Parris led a balanced service effort with eight points. Amelia Vecchio, Payton Masterson and Sloane Kerber each recorded seven service points, while Camille Costin added five. Kendall Hoerig finished with four service points, and Addy Hoegler contributed three. Six different players recorded at least three service points, giving Bay production throughout its rotation and helping the Rockets build advantages in each set.
The Rockets will return home to face Buckeye at 6 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026. The match begins a stretch that also includes a home date against Archbishop Hoban on Saturday before Bay resumes conference play at Westlake.
