BAY VILLAGE, Ohio - Bay High School celebrated senior night with a stellar performance, sweeping Valley Forge 5-0 in varsity girls tennis. The Rockets won all five matches in straight sets, while Bay's seniors finished the afternoon without dropping a set.
Blaire Glass set the tone at first singles with the most decisive singles result of the match. Glass controlled both sets in a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Madeline Mahoney added another convincing result at second singles, winning 6-2, 6-2. Elizabeth Steele completed Bay's singles sweep with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at third singles.
Bay was equally effective in doubles play. Ella Schelzig and Savannah Keberdle did not surrender a game at first doubles, rolling to a 6-0, 6-0 win.. Maura Mohoney and Mikayla Long finished the doubles sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the second position.
