BAY_VILLAGE, Ohio - Bay High School swept Valley Forge 3-0 in a varsity volleyball conference match Thursday, Oct. 15, winning 25-16, 25-15, 25-16. Payton Masterson led the Rockets with 14 service points. Bay won each set by at least nine points to finish the match without needing a fourth set.
The Rockets opened with a nine-point victory before posting their widest margin in the second set, a 10-point win that put them one set from the sweep. Bay then matched its opening-set score in the third to close out Valley Forge. Across the three sets, the Rockets scored 75 points and allowed 47, holding their opponent to either 15 or 16 points in every set.
Camille Costin followed Masterson with seven service points, giving Bay its two highest individual totals at the service line. Lila Ross and Sloane Kerber each contributed six service points. The pair finished just one point behind Costin as the Rockets received serving contributions from multiple players rather than relying on a single scorer.
Morgan Parris and Addy Hoegler added five service points apiece, while Kendall Hoerig supplied four. Those three combined for 14 service points, matching Masterson’s individual total. All seven of Bay’s listed service scorers finished with at least four points, with Masterson accounting for the only double-digit total.
Bay will open tournament play on Thursday October 22 at Bay High School against Holy Name at 7pm.
