Rockets Take Dual Against Normandy

On May 7, 2025, the Bay High School Rockets showcased their prowess in Track and Field by securing a decisive victory against Normandy with a final score of 79-43 at their home grounds in Bay Village. The meet was highlighted by outstanding performances across various events. In the running and racing category, Cooper Brauxes took 2nd place in the 100m dash, while Michael Hanselman led a sweep in the 1600m, securing 1st place with teammates Adrian Ray and Stephen Murphy following in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Will Curran added a 2nd place finish in the 400m, and Ewan Maille excelled to win the 300 hurdles. The Bay Boys also clinched victories in the 4x800m, 4x200m, and 4x100m relays, demonstrating their depth and teamwork. In field events, the Rockets continued their dominance. Lute Harmon won the high jump, and Elliot Trefz took first in pole vault, with teammates Jackson Smith and Henry Mediate securing the 2nd positions in their respective events. The shot put and discus events were particularly strong for Bay High School, with Sully Knaack and Danny Zipfel capturing the top spots in both events, showcasing the school's strength in throws. As the Rockets prepare for their next competition, they are set to face off in the Bell Invitational on May 9, 2025, in Rocky River, carrying forward their momentum and high spirits from this comprehensive win.
