LAGRANGE, Ohio - Bay High closed the Cleveland West Conference Tournament Series with a second-place team score of 325 on Wednesday at Grey Hawk Golf Club, securing sole possession of second place in the season-long conference standings. The Rockets finished three strokes behind tournament winner Rocky River, which shot 322, and three ahead of third-place Westlake in the fourth and final round of the series.

Matthew Mileti led Bay with a 74, finishing second in a field of 48 golfers. Mileti combined precise iron play and consistency off the tee with steady course management, setting the pace for the Rockets and reinforcing his place among the area's top competitors. His performance helped him earn CWC First Team honors.

Ryan Skryp continued his late-season surge with an 80. He made birdie on the second hole and relied on experience and persistence to navigate the back nine. Skryp's closing stretch nearly lifted him to first-team recognition, and he finished the conference season as a CWC Second Team selection alongside teammate Emmitt Naughton.

Blake Ropelewski added an 84 with matching nine-hole scores of 42. His round was highlighted by a 15-foot birdie putt on the island-green 11th hole, and he remained composed from start to finish. Will Schrock responded to an opening-nine 46 by shooting 39 on the back for an 85, providing one of Bay's strongest turnarounds of the day. Ropelewski and Schrock both received CWC honorable mention recognition.

The tightly packed team standings underscored the importance of every shot. Westlake placed third at 328, followed by Buckeye at 332, Valley Forge at 337, Lakewood at 338, North Olmsted at 343 and Normandy at 348. Bay's 325 gave the Rockets the separation they needed to finish the conference campaign alone in second place.

With the CWC schedule complete, Bay turns its attention to next week's sectional tournament at Pine Hills Golf Course. Mileti's low round, Skryp's continued improvement, Ropelewski's consistency and Schrock's back-nine recovery give the Rockets momentum as they prepare to carry their team-first approach into postseason play.
