Bay High School earned a four-set conference victory Thursday night, defeating North Olmsted 3-1 on the road. The Rockets won by set scores of 25-16, 18-25, 25-18 and 25-23, recovering from a second-set loss before closing the match with consecutive wins.
The Rockets established the early advantage with a decisive opening set. Bay reached 25 points while holding North Olmsted to 16, producing the largest margin of the match. North Olmsted answered in the second set, winning 25-18 to even the match and put pressure on Bay entering the third.
Bay responded with a strong 25-18 victory in the third set, restoring its one-set lead. The fourth was the closest set of the night, but the Rockets finished the match with a 25-23 win. That two-point result allowed Bay to avoid a decisive fifth set and complete the conference road victory.
Payton Masterson reached a career milestone during the match by recording her 1,000th dig. She also led the Rockets with 16 service points. Morgan Parris and Addy Hoegler contributed 11 service points apiece, giving Bay three players in double figures from the service line.
The Rockets received additional service production throughout the lineup. Camille Costin finished with six points, Amelia Vecchio added four, Lila Ross recorded three and Sloane Kerber contributed one. That balance helped Bay answer North Olmsted's second-set push and secure the final two sets.
Bay returns to the road to face Steele on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at 10 a.m. EDT.
