The Future Is Bright: Young Wrestlers Shine Early
The Bay Rockets Wrestling Team competed at the Avon Lake Cobos Insurance Classic on December 6, 2025, hosted at Avon Lake High School. The event featured 13 schools, providing a competitive field that highlighted the team’s depth, resilience, and growing momentum. The Rockets turned in several standout performances. Joe Beauchesne reached a major career milestone by earning his 100th win, a remarkable achievement that reflects his hard work and firmly positions him among the leaders on Bay Wrestling’s All-Time Wins Board. Freshman Max Prahl also delivered an impressive varsity debut, placing 3rd in his weight class. His only loss came against a top-ranked Division I opponent, and he finished the day with a strong 4-1 record, marking a promising start to his high school wrestling career. The team also benefited from the efforts of Freshmen Easton Lockhart and Griffin Spratt, who were added to the lineup the morning of the tournament. Despite the late notice, both wrestlers competed with determination and represented Bay with grit and competitiveness. Their willingness to step up exemplifies the team-first mentality at the core of the program. Looking ahead, the Rockets will travel to Shaker Heights High School on December 11, 2025, where they will take on the Shaker Raiders. The team plans to build on the lessons and momentum from this weekend’s invitational as they prepare for their next challenge.
