Turrall Leads Rockets to Season-Low 398 and Third Place Finish in CWC Championship

FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio - Bay High School posted its best 18-hole team score of the season Thursday, shooting a 398 to finish third in the inaugural CWC Conference Championship. The Rockets stayed close to the leaders throughout the soggy morning and finished only 16 strokes out of first place.

The performance represented a 22-stroke improvement from Bay’s previous round at the same course eight days earlier. Four Rockets broke 106, giving the team the consistency it needed to remain near the top of the standings across the 18-hole championship.

First-year golfer Stella Turrall led Bay with a career-low 96 and earned first-team All-Conference honors. Turrall lowered the career best established the previous week by 16 strokes.

Caroline Kousaie followed with a 97, matching Kousaie’s previous 18-hole score at Big Met and also securing second-team All-Conference recognition. Ella Taulbee, another first-year golfer, completed Bay’s third sub-100-adjacent round with a career-low 100. Taulbee earned second-team All-Conference honors after producing another substantial improvement late in the season. Charlotte Hofelich supplied the final counting score with a career-best 105, bringing the Rockets’ four-player total to 398.

Anna Crites and June Hart each carded a 116 to round out Bay’s championship lineup. The depth behind the four counting scores complemented the Rockets’ three All-Conference performances and helped complete their strongest team round of the season.

Bay will close the dual-match portion of its schedule against Buckeye on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Sweetbriar Golf Club. The Rockets enter that finale after cutting 22 strokes in just over a week and finishing within 16 shots of a conference championship.
